I'm going to America in two different ways -
One is that in exactly three weeks from today I'll be getting on a plane and flying from the UK to Washington to be at the RWA National Conference there. I can't wait to meet up with all my friends, writers, readers and of course hosties from eHarlequin. I'll be signing my books at the literacy signing.
And second - I have some exciting news that my 12 Point Guide to Writing Romance is going to be in America too.
For ages now - ever since the 12 Point Guide to Writing Romance was first published, I have hoped that one day I would be able to tell my American readers and would-be writers that they could buy the book direct in USA. I know that it's been available on Amazon.com, but not everyone likes to buy on-line, and some of you have had difficulty getting hold of it 'over the pond'.
The good news is that I heard today from the publisher that the first copies of an American edition, printed and published in Chicago, are being printed this week.
This news means that there is also the hope that the book will now be on sale at the RWA Conference in Washington - if it isn't, it won't be for want of trying! But I'm really thrilled to know there will be an American editin at last.

Don't overspend on flights to USA. £5 is good.
If you time it right there are £5 promotional flights to all sorts of places, including New York, Chicago, LAX etc.
"Time it right" means you go online at around midnight on - I think it's Wednesday night / Thursday morning - but the time must coincide with the city where the airline has its HQ. So BA would be London. Qantas would be Sydney time. Emirates would be Dubai time etc.
This is the weekly time when the managers in charge of seat bookings do a weekly clean-out or top-up. They sell off unsold seats CHEAPLY so those flights can go on their report sheets as FULL. (I suspect they earn Brownie Points for having full flights.) Hence they SLASH the fare and offer it online. Thease seats sell quickly, like within 2-3 hours. But flying to Chicago for five pounds (one way) is a real deal! I read about this in an ebook at ebookofknowledge dot com and there are all kinds of other flight bargains too.
Enjoy the conference.
See you there, Kate! :)
