I'm so excited!

Every time a new book hits the shelves, there’s a certain level of excitement.  The thrill of seeing a book in a shop or in a customer’s hand never goes away.  But sometimes the excitement is really great, and this is one of those times for me.

Today marks the release of the first book of my first official duet.  ONE DANCE WITH THE COWBOY is the first in the Cowboys and Confetti duet and the second book will be out in North America in March – HER LONE COWBOY (April in the UK).    That’s one reason to be excited.

Another reason is that I got to return to Larch Valley as a setting.  I loved creating this town for my January 09 book The Rancher’s Runaway Princess.  In going back, I got to be there all over again, and I got to visit some characters who felt like old friends – Lucy and Brody, for example, and Betty Polcyk, and Agnes Dodds, who is a real firecracker I think.  I got to make some new friends – Dawson Briggs and Clay Gregory being two.  Writing these two books there felt a little bit like coming home.

And finally, just like in writing, it comes down to the characters themselves.  I loved Jen and Drew and really wanted Jen to find her happy ending and Drew to lay some ghosts to rest.  And in HER LONE COWBOY, I fell head over heels in love with Noah.  Knowing their stories are finally going to be in the hands of readers is amazing.

I’m off to work on my latest now.  I tried posting this several times with covers and blurbs but for some reason my post kept disappearing, so instead I'm going to try to link to my bookshelf page on my site - where you can see the cover, read the blurb and even an excerpt!
