Hanging Out (well in a sentence anyway) with Debbie Macomber

Okay, I'm soooo jazzed that that Library Journal used my name in the same sentence as Debbie Macomber's (one of my all-time favorite authors!!)!!

"...Debbie Macomber, Marcia Evanick, and Holly Jacobs are other writers who like to bring 'em on home."

Romance - 4/15/2009 - Library Journal

HanWhen my first book for Harlequin came out, Debbie was doing a signing down in Pittsburgh, about two hours from me.  I couldn't make it, but a friend bought one of her books for me, and she signed it for me, saying she loved the title I Waxed My Legs for This?  I always thought that was such a sweet thing to do.   I spotted her at a RWA conference once, and did a mini-gush.  You see, authors are readers, too.  We have those special authors who are auto-buys for us.  And when we, well, at least when I, meet those authors whose books mean so much to me, well, I have the urge to gush.  But because I try to be professional about it, I do a mini-gush.  I tell them that I love their work, that they've inspired me...and then I go back to trying to be just one professional talking to another.  Try is the main word there!  LOL  I think I pull it off most of the time, but inside I'm still that giddy fan, hopping up and down in excitement!  LOL   And that's sort of how I feel about having my name in the same sentence as Debbie Macomber's.  I'm trying to be all cool and it's-just-another-part-of-my-job, but inside, I have to admit, there's a lot of jumping up and down with giddy fan excitement!  LOL
